BARASOAIN CHURCH review

We started planning about the wedding a week after M proposed. It will be a Catholic ceremony, that's for sure -since we both came from Catholic families (and his is active in church). I wanted a cathedral ceremony back then. But I didn't like San Agustin nor Manila cathedral because I think its too common. I thought of Barasoain Church since I didn't know anyone yet who got married there.

M and I, together with his mom went to Barasoain. I wasn't 100% sure if that's where I wanted but we booked it for December 21, 2014 because our target date was a peak season and the reservation fee is only 1,000php anyways. (Can't post photos because I lost the photos from my fone from October 2013-FEB2014).

We liked the fact that the church is historical but not overrated (at least for those residing outside Bulacan hehehe) and we wanted an out of town wedding that won't be too far for our guests. However, the interior of the church wasn't appealing to me. There are some parts that were renovated and some parts that are preserved and I find it contradicting and unattractive. A wedding had just ended when we came, and the aisle was dirty. At the back of my mind, I knew; I didn't like my dream wedding to happen there.

There was also a garden at the back of the church where you can hold the reception. They said it can hold a hundred people. I don't think so because it looks small. The office staff in the church wasn't accommodating too.

It looks good in the picture though. I think it got featured in KrisTV last year.

the garden/outdoor venue

You can rent the garden venue for only 15,000php and the rate of the church is around 8k at that time.

Barasoain church is presentable if you would like to hold your wedding there, but I (personally) don't find it romantic. And it'll look better if you put an effort on the aisle decor coz it will look bare and dark if you don't.
